About Faith Based Recovery
Having the proper guidance and support is key to success in recovery. For some, that guidance comes from forming a relationship with a higher power.
Religious faith can be the anchor that keeps one steady during the most trying of times and the heaviest storms; it can be the light which leads to a brighter day. Through God’s forgiveness and love, one is able to also forgive and love: both themselves and others.
Faith-based recovery programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous have shown how beneficial religious teachings can be to recovery. While aligning with a religious following isn’t strictly necessary for achieving or maintaining sobriety, the additional support and counseling of a faith-based rehab program can be the difference between relapse and recovery.
